I need help! I finished quest #4 a few days ago. I want to start quest #5 but Luto won't give me the quest. What do I have to wiat on before I can start the next quest?

Just get more friendship. It took me around one week (two callings each day + speaking to him at the rendezvous point) and trading of one or two weapon tiers to get the next quest.

Ara- I wonder if the Healer can burst with Banish? Maybe try to open Transfixion or Fusion with Carby, see what happens?

Hmm ... I've never seen the healer style use Banish, but it's worth a try.

I'll try to chain Punch-->Heavy Swing > Fusion with Ifrit next time I'm ingame. For a Transfixion I need Starburst-->Poison Nails but my Staff skill is still to low. Hehe, would be cool if Kolui-Pelui could burst that. I'll try also a bursting with the Stalwart Shield, after all he uses Cure so he *has* magic.

Added almost every weapon for upgrade #6, every headgear for upgrade #6 and some for #7, added short description for the last two quests, Mirror Images and Mixed Signals.

That's all for now. Going into holiday.

Please check Post #1 in this thread. Except storyline-spoilers for Mirror Images and the three Genkai quest the guide has everything there is to know about NPCs at this time. Including all possible weapon/armour/headgear options :)

Ok, I lied ... there is one thing missing: NPC-Foods are either an one-of-a-time event or I miss the way to get them back.

My NPC won't give me the opprotunity to do the Empty quest.

I've worked on my NPC alot lately, I got her to lvl 37, and I finished "Blighted Gloom". But when ever I go to talk to her, she won't give me the Empty quest to get my Tactics pearl >.< I even have a second head peice for her unlocked. Ara, do you know when I'll get to do this quest?

Normally you should have gotten this quest some callings ago. Normally "Empty Darkness" is the next upgrade your friend after "Reflections Past", but you are are the second person I heard of which somehow has problems to get this quest (the other one being Gulian).

As far as I remember you already did the Promyvion-mission, so the problem clearly isn't the part about never being there and friendsship should be more than enough also. 
I'm not sure but how about this: before you enter a Promyvion you have to 'log in' with the large apparatus in the hall of transference and then you can enter just this single promyvion. Do you automatically get 'logged out' after you killed the boss of a promyvion? If yes, perhaps you have just to log in to a promyvion again before you get the quest.
Perhaps your friends is, well, kinda afraid of going to that place without proper equipment. Has she the highest weapon tier?

The last part is just the conversation: you have to talk about 'quests' not to 'chat' to get "Empty Darkness" activated. Hm ... "Empty Darkness" isn't marked as a quest in the questlog and you get the queststarter-comment from your friend just once, so perhaps you have gotten the quest already and just missed the text at the rendezvous point. Have you tried to go to a promyvion and checked the rendezvous point there?

Tell me if you can get the quest with one of this hints, if not I'll search the web if other people have also this problem and look what I can do against it.

Well when i entered Promy when I did them, I did see the R.point and I checked it and it called my NPC up. Does that mean I got the quest?

Exactly :D

I guess you just started the quest but didn't finish it, so you still have no tactics pearl. You can retry it once each rl-day till you finish it.

kylin just send me a tell at anytime to go do this, the first floor ??? is an easy solo and you get 1500 xp for your npc

I added something to the guide: Many people seem to have problems to get certain quests or upgrades when they should be able to get them, while I never had that problem. Finally I realized what the problem might be: the Signal Pearl!
Most quests get just activated if you wear your Signal Pearl while speaking with the quest starter NPC, so don't for get to equip it.

(Because od a lack of really good earring at my lvl, I wear my two pearls all the time, so I never had any problems -_-)
