Ok, just some observations from playing with attachments and stuff. The head piece determines distance from the mob- with what I have, Harlequin head makes Serenade move up close to mob (melee range), while with Stormwaker he tends to stay further away. With the latter, if the mob moves close enough for him to melee, he will- and he won't move back to "mage range". Body seems to determine what attacks are used, or at least a preference. Harlequin is like a RDM almost- melee skills (one WS) and spells. Stormwaker is all spells, unless the mob is closeby, in which case he melees like Harlequin (same WS- Slapstick) and casts when his timer's up. I have no experience with Valoredge nor Sharpshot, so unless someone helps me with those two they'll have to wait til I get them myself. Serenade seems to like enfeebling a lot. And I mean, a LOT. People have suggested removing the Scanner attachment to make him nuke more. I did that last night and saw no change, but I'll play with it more (only because I keep hearing people say this same thing). Strobe (the Provoke attachment) works very well. He'll use it when you command Fire Maneuver, and it automatically goes off every 30 seconds with no further input from you. The downside is that he can't take too many hits. Now granted, I was using full Harlequin when I experimented with this last night (along with Dixon), so perhaps Valoredge will have an edge in defense (ha!). The only thing is, I don't see any frame/head combos that give you 4 Light slots so you can have both Auto Repair Kit (Regen) and Flashbulb (Flash) on. Another thing- save for actual spellcasting, attachment abilities are just that- abilities. They're not spells, even if they emulate one. So for example, a Silenced automaton will still get Stoneskin from using Shock Absorber, or will still give the enemy Flash with Flashbulb.

Wow. Very nostalgic, reading this again. :)

As I'm sure most of you know, I quit the game about a year ago and have since returned. Of course this guide is now very much outdated, so I'll be working on getting it up to date.
