This is my clamming guide, if you want something added or revised PM me or E-mail me at Autydi@alltel.net

Clamming

What is it?
Clamming consists of paying 500 gil for a bucket, finding clamming points, and breaking buckets pretty much.

Where is it?
Clamming is only available on the Purgonorgo Isle accessed via Manaclipper in Bibiki Bay.

When can you Clam?
You can clam anytime you want to.

How do I start?
For those who havent tried it before you talk to Toh Zonikki near the manaclipper docks on the Purgonorgo Isle area within Bibiki Bay.  When you talk to her the first time you get a free bucket but only the first one is free.  After you get a bucket, either the free one or the 500 gil one, head to a clamming point and click it, once you click the clamming point just dig and thats all you do to start clamming.

Item Weights and NPC Prices
*Note* The NPC prices are to the Mithra named Pohka Chichiyowahl who is near the Manaclipper Docks but is kind of hidden behind a bush.
*Note* The NPC prices below are based on Windurst fame; these prices were found out by me durring my hours of clamming.
*Note* Certain Items sell for more on Auction House and certain Items sell for more to NPC
*Note* If you dig up a item not on this list it is 6 ponzes and cant be sold to NPC.

Strategy
There really isnt much of a strategy involved with clamming.  First off tho, you should keep track of your current weight; which can be done via: a) talking to Toh Zonikki and clicking the 2nd option or b) with calculator, chat log, ect...  Secondly, you should try not to bust your bucket because you only get whats in the bucket if you dont bust it.  Finally, you should be patient with clamming and not quit if you dont get good items because it will pay off in the end.  Also you should stop if you get something good.

Bucket Sizes and Upgrades
*Note* You always start out with a 50 ponze bucket and after you turn in your bucket it goes back to 50 ponze.
*Note* When you get the 200 ponzes bucket you can dig up a Black Mandragora that will bust it; you dig them up pretty often, so you should turn in the bucket if you have anything good at all.
*Note* After you fill up the 200 ponze bucket, I think you get congratulated by NPC and dont get a bigger bucket.

Bucket Size
Upgrade at
50 ponze
45-50 ponze
100 ponze
95-100 ponze
150 ponze
145-150 ponze
200 ponze
195-200 ponze

mm side note by me... don't move up to the 200 ponze bucket unless you have nothing good, cause you will most likely catch a black mandy and bust your bucket.

Note: the swimsuit gear +1 is great for clamming. The body-part increases the chance to find more valuable items, while the legs-part decreases the chance of a black mandragora jumping in your 200 pounzes-bucket.

2nd note: everytime you empty your bucket via Toh Zonikki, you start again with a 50 pounzes-bucket.

Aralays what you said about emptying the bucket and it going back to 50 ponzes is already in the guide under Buckets Sizes and Upgrades.  I am also planning on revising the guide soon if anyone has anything they want added PM me or post here and I will try my best to include it in my revision.
